Glenn McGrath thanks Australia for batting above and beyond during the first Pink Test for all cancers

As the Sydney Cricket Ground transforms into a sea of pink for the 17th annual Jane McGrath Day at the NRMA Insurance Pink Test, the McGrath Foundation and Cricket Australia will unite with fans and communities around the country to support the McGrath Foundation’s goal of raising a record-breaking number of Virtual Pink Seats, as it takes its care to all cancers.

Marking a new innings for the McGrath Foundation, this NRMA Insurance Pink Test is the first for all cancers, and encouraged people all over the nation to come together to buy Virtual Pink Seats to ensure no one with cancer misses out on the support of a McGrath Cancer Care Nurse.

Joining forces with the Pink Test volunteers at the SCG, McGrath Foundation President & Co-Founder Glenn McGrath thanked Australians for supporting Jane McGrath Day.

“We are so thankful for the support we have received throughout this year’s Pink Test. It’s incredible to see that on the morning of Day 3, we’ve sold over 250,000 Virtual Pink Seats. We’re calling on Australia to get involved and help us hit our target to start the job of ensuring that no one with cancer goes without the support of a McGrath Cancer Care Nurse.

“I’m proud to be here on the annual Jane McGrath Day, coming together with our cricket family, our wonderful volunteers, and the wider community in a show of support for everybody affected by cancer across the country.

“Seeing how the community has come together has been incredibly special. This year we have a new purpose to celebrate. For 20 years, we’ve given our all to people with breast cancer, and now we’re taking care to all cancers. Helping to improve equity in cancer care is something we are extremely passionate about.”

McGrath Foundation Ambassador & Director Tracy Bevan said it was fantastic to see the community joining forces to support the Foundation in this historic moment.

“Watching everyone come together this year to help us take our care to all cancers has been truly heartwarming. Witnessing Jane’s vision continue to grow and inspire communities all over Australia is a testament to the amazing human that Jane was. She would be so incredibly proud that her Foundation is making such an impact.

“The Virtual Pink Seats are a special way to honour those around us who have or who are going through cancer. Seeing the messages of love and support flooding in with every Virtual Pink Seat shared shows how our communities continue to join hands in supporting those impacted by this disease.”

Since 2009, Jane McGrath Day has come to represent hope for Australians with breast cancer. From 2025 it will signify equitable care for all those experiencing all cancers.

Fans are encouraged to purchase Virtual Pink Seats for $20 each at pinktest.com.au and share their stories on social media.

Those attending at the SCG can also make a donation to receive a limited-edition Pink Test bandana.
