Mitu Bhowmick Lange among Premiers Business Council members

MELBOURNE: On December 10, 2024, Premier Jacinta Allan announced the creation of the Premier’s Business Council to strengthen Victoria’s economy by engaging directly with business leaders. The council aims to explore strategies for fostering a more prosperous and resilient Victorian economy.

Among its esteemed members is Mitu Bhowmick Lange, who joins the council under the leadership of Chair Ahmed Fahour AO, CEO of Gurner Group and former CEO of Australia Post, NAB, and Latitude Financial Services.

Mitu Bhowmick Lange is the founding director of Mind Blowing Films and Mind Blowing World, a film distribution company specializing in local content for audiences in Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji. As the founder and director of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM), she has elevated the festival to global prominence as a premier platform for Indian cinema. Additionally, she serves on the VicScreen Board and, in 2023, was honored with the Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for her contributions to the performing arts through film.

In a LinkedIn post, Mitu expressed her gratitude, stating, “I am honoured to be a part of the inaugural Premier’s Business Council (PBC) and working with some incredible business leaders…”

The council comprises distinguished leaders from various industries, including multinational corporations, small businesses, manufacturing, finance, education, retail, arts, sports, housing, media, and philanthropy. Members include:

  • Anthony Pratt, Chairman of Visy

The Premier’s Business Council is part of a broader initiative to establish new forums for collaboration between business and industry, as outlined in the government’s media release.
