Vibhuti
The ash of cow dung mixed with a few other ingredients is processed in such a way that it has a certain receptivity. If you go out into the world, you as a person can receive the same things in many different ways, through many different centers or chakras in your body. From where you receive, makes all the difference. So it was established in this culture that you make an effort to receive everything in the highest possible way.
When applied at different points of your body, Vibhuti is a tool to enhance receptivity. Before you step out of the house in the morning, you apply Vibhuti at certain points of higher receptivity so that you receive the Divine around you; not the devil from the people.
When you take Vibhuti, always take it with your ring finger because if there is any part of the body that you can truly call as sacred, it is your ring finger. Apply the Vibuthi to the following places for maximum benefit:
- Agna Chakra: Between the eyebrows – to receive life as knowledge or wisdom
- Vishuddhi Chakra: Pit of the throat – to enhance power
- Anahata Chakra: Center of chest, where the ribcage meets – to receive life as love
- Just behind the earlobe is a solid bone; a little further down is a crevice. If you follow that crevice, at one point it is like a dimple. Locate that point and apply a little Vibhuti there.
- For men: You can apply a little bit of Vibhuti on your right big toe. For ladies: You can apply it on your left big toe.

It is for general well-being; it also reduces your blood pressure. It keeps the body very calm and alert. For children Shanmukhi – six-faced Rudraksh attracts motherly love.
