Emerging Leaders Set to Pitch Big Ideas at TEDxSydney Youth

The next generation of visionary thinkers is set to return to Parramatta for a special TEDxSydney Youth event, scheduled to take place this month at Riverside Theatres. This inspiring platform will showcase future leaders and innovators as they share their bold ideas on technology, education, business, transport, and more.

Nine influential speakers will take the stage, including prominent disability rights advocate and *Heartbreak High* actress Chloe Hayden, CEO of Synbiote and one of Australia’s influential young minds Alinta Furnell, and James Parr, an amputee model and champion for visibility. These thought leaders are expected to inspire and engage audiences with their visions for the future.

City of Parramatta Chief Executive Gail Connolly PSM emphasized the significance of the event as an opportunity for young voices, particularly from Western Sydney, to be heard.

“We are an emerging global city with a big vision for the future, and TEDxSydney Youth provides a unique platform for our younger generation to share game-changing ideas,” Ms. Connolly said. “Our Parramatta 2050 vision is an example of what can be achieved by thinking outside the box. I encourage everyone to explore it for inspiration and to build on it for a better future right here in Parramatta.”

In addition to the featured speakers, five winners of a competition held in partnership between the City of Parramatta and TEDxSydney Youth will also present their pitches. These young innovators will share their ideas on what the future holds under their leadership.

One such winner, 10-year-old Aidan Jin, described his TEDxSydney Youth experience as unforgettable. “I was both nervous and excited to go on stage and talk about establishing Parramatta as the world’s first environmentally sustainable city,” he said. “I’m concerned about climate change and want to make a difference. Being a TEDxSydney Youth speaker was a lot of fun.”

TEDxSydney Youth will be held on Thursday, 29 August, from 9:15 AM to 2 PM at Riverside Theatres. The event promises to be a powerful showcase of the bright future being shaped by today’s emerging leaders.
