First of all, being a part of this industry and having started from the Miss India pageant to being one of the top actors of today, please take us through your journey how do you see it?
It’s been a roller coaster ride I would say. It’s had its ups and downs and how when you get off the roller coaster and your hair is like fully behind but you have had this big smile on your face and you are like let’s go again, let’s do this again; that’s been my journey (smiles).
Your film Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is streaming now successfully on Zee5 Global, tell us how was it like working with Salman Khan and one quality of his that you admired?
It’s been great! The quality I admire of Salman is that he’s very real and he says what’s on his mind and you are not used to that sometimes because not everyone says what’s on their mind but it’s a quality. We can all learn to be more honest from him.
Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan has a mix of senior actors, like Rohini Ji, Venkatesh sir, Bhumika Chawla, Bhagyashree, plus young and new actors, like Shehnaaz, Raghav, Palak, among others, so how was it like on the set of the film?
It was very chilled out. The senior actors are all great people to work with, even Venkatesh sir is an absolute sweetheart. I think, when you have all these different energies on set, it just makes the set more lively and more happy; we had a good time.
You are a trained dancer yourself and this film has a lot of songs and dance sequence so if you had to choose one which was your favourite?
Billi, Billi is my favourite and also Yentamma.
In the film, the story moves from north to south; so in North, it is a bit lighter and then in the South, it gets quite intense and if we have to ask you which part was more difficult or more interesting to shoot, the Northern side or Southern side, what would your answer be?
I think, in general, it had a good balance because even as an actor, you want to do everything. You want to do your emotional scenes; you want to do the fun, happy scenes, the light-hearted ones. I think because it’s the balance of both, you enjoy doing it because it’s not like you have been fully serious or you are just laughing, but instead have the best of both, so when it’s an equal balance, you just learn to appreciate the other emotions more, so overall, it was good distribution I would say, which the audience will also like.
What do you want the audience to take away when they watch this film?
Just have fun. I think this is one of those films where you sit with your family, you laugh a little, cry a little, and enjoy the beautiful scenery, the locations that we have shot in like we have gone and shot in
Ladakh, so it’s a complete family Entertainer, and it’s all about loving your family, unity. It’s one of those Masala complete package kind of films.
Last but not the least, being a fashion icon, a lot of women look up to you as an inspiration, what do you have to say to them?
Thank you, that’s all, I want to say. Thank you so much and just learn to love yourself more that’s something that even I work on every single day and then everything else just falls into place (smiles).
Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan: ***
This fim is a family entertainer loaded with colourful dance sequence and vibrant cinematography. The presence of veteran actors, like Rohini Hattangadi, Satish Kushik, Venkatesh Daggubati, Jagapathi Babu, add drama to the story. Look out for new surprises in the film; for me, it was boxer Vijender Singh who has a major role in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. Pooja Hegde is like a breath of fresh air, an absolute treat to watch, and Salman Khan as Bhai Jaan is the heart and soul around which the
film revolves. Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan can be a part of your weekend watch-list.
