OPENING NIGHT GALA THE NEW BOY

The 70th Sydney Film Festival will open with the Warwick Thorton’s latest masterpiece, The New Boy – kicking off a 12 day celebration of cinema including over 200 films, talks and parties.

Direct from Cannes’ Un Certain Regard, starring Cate Blanchett, Deborah Mailman, Wayne Blair, and magnetic newcomer Aswan Reid, The New Boy is a beguiling story of spirituality and survival set in 1940s Australia.

Join us as we celebrate 70 editions of Sydney Film Festival with an unforgettable Opening Night Gala! Director Warwick Thornton and members of the film team join us on the red carpet and screening, as well as the not-to-be missed official afterparty at Centennial Hall, Sydney Town Hall, where we’ll be serving canapes and drinks from our beverage partners Brix Rum, Château Tanunda, Mountain Goat and Lyres.
