Acting Premier Andrew Stoner today invited showground managers from across the state to apply for a share of $700,000 in NSW Government funding.
Mr Stoner said the NSW Government made the funding available under this year’s Public Reserve Management Fund (PRMF) supplementary round to support showgrounds.
“The $700,000 is in addition to the $23.6 million in spending across all reserve types that was recently announced,” Mr Stoner said.
“$2 million of this record PRMF funding went to iconic regional showground improvements.
“This, and the additional funds on offer, will support the maintenance of our regional showgrounds just in time for the 2014 show season – an important period for communities to get together, have fun and celebrate country life.
“Showground managers from across the state are invited to apply for grants and loans to assist them in the development, maintenance and improvement of their reserves.
“The supplementary round will open for applications on Tuesday 10 December 2013.”
Mr Stoner said showground managers would have until 16 January 2014 to submit their applications for the supplementary round funds.
“This extra funding is just one example of the NSW Government’s commitment to the cultural, sporting, economic and recreational life of communities across NSW,” Mr Stoner said.
