World Hindi Day Blossomed celebrating géant littéraire “Harioudh”

On the auspicious occasion of the World Hindi Day 10th January 2023, “Harioudh Smriti” First International Literary discussion and Poetry Recitation program culminated beautifully. Chief Guest Padmashri Leeladhar Jagudi’s spoke about “Harioudh jis” unparalleled contribution to Hindi Literature and the writing style of literary giant Pandit Ayodhya Singh Upadhyay “Harioudh” ji – the author of “Priya Pravas” Khadi Boli’s first epic in Hindi which was held in Australia’s grand city of  Sydney.

The seminar started with Mrs. Asha Sharma, granddaughter of Harioudh ji, sharing some amazing anecdotes about the rich cultural, strict and disciplined upbringing, how Harioudh ji was a very soft spoken man and how he stressed having command over language/s with her and her siblings; she also shared some funny moments spent growing up the with the littérateur.

International Hindi Committee Chairman Shri Bhagwan Sharma ji shared some phenomenal facts about Harioudh ji’s life and literature in his ‘Beej Vyaktavya/Seed Expressions’ leaving everyone in awe.

Poet writers from many countries participated in this program organised by “Theatre on Demand” Australia with associate organisations “Australianchal” “Sahitya Sandhya” and “Bharat Australia Sahitya Setu”, and legendary scholars of Hindi and English, with their words and mere presence overwhelmed everyone.

In his opening remarks, lyricist Om Nischal ji described this conference as a platform; capable of bringing some of the finest modern and contemporary Hindi poets together and stalwarts like Shri Leeladhar Jagudi ji make it exceptional. He also said that despite living in different countries and pursuing different vocations, people across the globe continue their literary meditation and celebrate the ‘Suyash/Glory’ of the grandiose poet Harioudh.

Chandrakant Parashar and Pranjal Dhar from Delhi presented a deep discussion and reflections on the life and works of Harioudh ji, Gopal Baghel Madhu and Acharya Sandeep Tyagi joined from Toronto and Rajiv Khandelwal’s English recitation were commendable. Anju Sharma from Mathura, Vijay Singh, Dr. Bhavana Kunwar, Prageet Kunwar from Sydney, Kusum Chaturvedi, Shashi Tiwari, Jyotsana Sharma from Agra, Madhu Saxena Raipur, Dr.Vimal Sharma Patna, Sushil Yogi from Mumbai and Priyanka Agnihotri from Varanasi recited their compositions with finesse. Jagudi ji’s poems and Om Nischal ji’s songs and ghazals made an incredible impact.

In his closing comments, Shri Leeladhar Jagudi ji considered Harioudh ji’s literature as “All Acceptable” from Harioudh’s period – until now and forever…

Asha ji’s entire family joined the conference from America, Doha and Mumbai. It is a miracle of literature and popularity that the event, which; was proposed for 2 hours but continued well after 4.5 hours…

The program was conducted efficiently by poet Anil Kumar Sharma who is currently in Sydney and Harioudh ji’s younger great granddaughter Aparna Vats. Towards the end Ashaji’s elder son Ragnish Vats (America) reminisced about his school days and recited his favourite poems from the great writer. Her younger son Raghvesh Vats (Qatar) shared his thoughts and feelings for the program and the incomparable literary genius of all the participants. At the end of the program, the elder great granddaughter of Harioudh ji, Angira Vats, who is associated with the cinema industry in Mumbai formally thanked everyone.
