Indusage in conversation with Managing Director of ABC Bullion 2022 – Janie Simpson

  1. Please tell me a little about ABC Bullion and yourself.

ABC Bullion is Australasia’s leading precious metals and bullions specialist. We’ve assisted investors for close to 50 years to buy and sell gold bullion, silver, platinum, and palladium. We’re also the only independent refinery in Australia accredited by the Shanghai Gold Exchange (SGE), the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) and the CME Group.

As the Managing Director of ABC Bullion, I am incredibly passionate about helping people understand the gold and silver investment market and showing investors how accessible it can be.

  1. Diwali is the biggest cultural celebration on the Indian festive calendar. How is ABC Bullion celebrating with the Indian diaspora this Diwali?

ABC Bullion has recently launched two special limited-edition gold and silver Diwali coins to celebrate not only Diwali but the Indian diaspora, which is the largest and fastest growing diaspora in Australia.

The coins are embossed with Lakshmi, the Hindu Goddess of Wealth and Prosperity, with arms outstretched perched atop a lotus throne.

Our Diwali coins are part of the annual mintage and come with their own Certificate of Authenticity and luxurious matt presentation box – perfect for gifting to family and friends or simply keeping your investment safe.

We are so proud to celebrate the Indian diaspora, culture and accomplishments, especially with the recent commemoration of 75 years of Indian Independence and we are delighted these coins are well received by the community. We’ve had some fantastic feedback so far.

  1. What makes ABC Bullion’s products special?

ABC Bullion products are produced at accredited ABC Refinery, ensuring our precious metals and bullion are produced to the highest quality. Our refinery is the only Australian refinery laboratory to have been awarded National Association of Testing Authorities accreditation for the laboratory analysis of gold and silver, ensuring consistency. Our metals are refined to 999.9+ standard.

  1. How did ABC Bullion come up with the designs?

We have worked closely with a team of experts to develop Diwali products which we believe the Indian community in Australia will cherish. The intricate design makes a beautiful keepsake.

The design of our coins takes inspiration from Lakshmi, the Hindu Goddess of Wealth and Prosperity, and symbolises the ushering in of abundance and prosperity during Diwali.

  1. When are the coins available, and where can people buy them?

The coins are available to purchase now on our website at https://www.abcbullion.com.au/Diwali/ or at our state offices until stocks last.

Stocks are limited and I am aware such coins are difficult to find in Australia so we encourage those wishing to make a purchase to do so quickly to avoid disappointment.

  1. Have you seen strong demand for the coins so far? What has the feedback been?

I have been absolutely astounded by the overwhelming support, love and demand for these coins – it really goes to show the importance of Diwali to the Indian community and the tradition of buying gold and silver.

We are so happy that we have been able to deliver a product which is appreciated.

Feedback has been incredibly positive – many Indians I have been in touch with expressed their frustration over finding coins that were suitable for Diwali in Australia.

  1. What makes gold and silver so special as an investment and as a gift?

The Indian tradition of buying gold and silver is important to the Indian community, especially as an investment and gift. Gold and silver represent wealth and prosperity so by gifting these to your family members or friends, it’s a gesture that means you are wishing them wealth and prosperity.

As an investment, it’s also a tradition to gift gold and silver coins to children so that when they eventually grow up and are old enough, the coins can be traded or resold at a higher value than it was initially purchased for.

  1. Does ABC Bullion plan to engage with the Indian Australian community beyond Diwali?

We very much hope so! This is just the beginning of a relationship with the amazing Indian community.

  1. There are 800 mn+ Indians celebrating Diwali every year – almost 10% of the world’s population! Any insights about Diwali’s impact on gold/ silver markets in Australia, India, and the world?

At the moment we are concentrating on producing a beautiful collectible gold and silver coins for the Australian Indian Diaspora.

  1. Any message for the Indian Australian community who are getting ready to celebrate Diwali?

ABC Bullion and I would like to wish you a very happy Diwali 2022. May you and your family be showered with happiness, abundance and prosperity during this Festival of Lights!
