A few downsides to the movie though, no doubt.
A quick to build love story, cheesy dialogs, under-baked performances from stalwarts, backed with unrequired (but gud) music.
However, few things to WOW the audience as well.
Utilising the concept of Indian Mythology, for Super-Hero avatars – a novel concept in itself, never ventured before; backed with some outstanding, never-seen-before stunning VFX, making it a true visual treat and a show stealer.
The plot: Ages old secret brotherhood (Brahmansh) possessing various powerful Astras (weapon) with one prime motive: to maintain the secrecy n sanctity of the supreme divine Astra – the ‘Brahmastra’ and keep it shaant.
The idea of linking this Astraverse through the ‘ Brotherhood’ from filmyduniya characters like MonanBhargav, is what i call a genious move (cinamatic fans would know the context) .. binding Cinematic-Verse within this Astra-Verse in our own maiden ‘Swades‘ attempt towards the MCU n Potter world!
For me the movie was paisa wasool in it’s 1st 15 minutes of awesomeness overloaded in ‘King’ style, giving the movie a (Monkey-)leap of faith. GRAND! (A smartly placed super-star cameo to kick start the roller-coaster.)
It’s truly an MCU attempt in our own Swades and hats off to Ayan for even attempting this ambitious and novel step, opening an array of possibilities for the future of Bollywood movie making!
Note:
Dont go with preconceived notions from social-media hate-campaigns againts its makers.. but watch it as a true bollywood masala-movie-buff, just like the ol’ times;
watch it without forced bias but ofcourse with a suspension of disbelief to enjoy it’s fantastic visual extravaganza!
I did have my share of hooting, clapping and screaming at a few scenes, embarrassing a few around me, .. but that’s the kind of movie-experiences missing since long (thanks to the OTTs)!
I loved it for what was good in it and ignored what was not. Do that n you’ll enjoy too!

I did! And I loved it, for that!
