Australian Telangana Forum celebrates Telangana Cultural Night with aplomb!!!

Australian Telangana Forum (ATF) celebrated the Telangana Formation Day in the form Multicultural Night on June 4, 2022, at Bowman Hall in Blacktown, NSW.   The occasion was celebrated amid rants “Jai Telangana” and the event was graced by The Hon. Dr. Geoffrey Lee, Minister for Corrections, Member for Granville and Shadow Minister for Sport, and Shadow Minister for Youth Ms Julia Dorothy FINN MP, Mr Sanjay Kumar Muluka Consular general from India – Sydney and Jodi Leyanne McKay is a former Australian politician who was the Leader of the Opposition in the Parliament of New South Wales.

Cultural activities kick started with young kids performing to the popular numbers, with attendees cheering the performers. ATF President Prashanth Kumar Kadaparthi, speaking on the occasion said, “I am thrilled and overjoyed with the response as ATF was established in 2006 with a vision to ‘Connect Telangana Community to promote Culture, and Commerce’”. He also stated that though we stay miles away from Telangana – India our soul and heart is connected back and goo to see the people passing the culture and tradition to next generations and urged the audience to support ATF events and the team that put together the Telangana Cultural Night 2022. Later he Introduced ATF EC Team saying that without its members the event would not have been a successful one.

Mayor of Blacktown Council – Hon. Tony Bleasdale was unable to attend the event however he conveyed and extended his warm greetings and wishes to the ATF Team.

The event was also graced by other local councillors Usha Dommaraju from Camden, Srini Pillalamarri from Hornsby , Sandhya Reddy from Strathfield, Suman Saha from Cumberland and Moninder Singh Susai Benjamin & Livingston Chettipally from Blacktown and by other local community leaders.

  • Mr. Livingston Chettipally who was representing Blacktown Council Mayor praised the ATF community for its contributions and retaining its culture and traditions while simultaneously assimilating in the society here.
  • Mr. Geoffrey Lee gave his introduction in fluent Hindi but with sentences becoming longer, he switched to English. His namaskar drew a thunderous applause from the audience and stated that this is the first ever bigger Telugu event that he attended after the pandemic with nearly 1200 audiences present at the venue.
  • Julia Finn- Mentioned that its after two and half years its nice to see you all at one place celebrating the Multicultural festival to celebrate the formation Telangana day and appreciated the diverse variation in Telangana culture and tradition and is region for vast Multi Culturalism, tradition, and its uniqueness!
  • Jodi Mackay recalled that she visited Hyderabad – Telangana and acknowledged the multicultural Telangana state hold itself and good to see the same spirit in Australia and acknowledge Telangana state on its 8 years
  • Indian Consular Sydney– Sanjay Muluka who hails from Telangana mentioned that this event looks like a Jatara (Mela) which showcases true multiculturalism spirit of Telangana and he Thanked ATF team for hosting this festival especially when India is celebrating its Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav and its good to see ATF introducing Indian culture to Australia.

Program promptly started at 5:30pm; with various cultural activities, music and dance performances that thrilled the audience and the guests who have come to witness this from all over the Sydney.

ATF General Goverdhan Reddy Muddam thanked everyone and the ATF Family Members everyone who came to the event and also all the performers, choreographers, sponsors and the ATF Founders  for providing such a platform. He also thanked people who have been watching the event online over from India and the event ended with delicious dinner and award presentation.
