A Silver Jubilee for Australian Visa and Migration Consultancy Services under the aegis of Sanjay Deshwal

By Nidhi Kumari

Sanjay Deshwal came to Australia as a student at the young age of 29, pursuing MBA from Western Sydney University; 25 years hence, he stands strong as a successful business professional and owner of Australian visa and migration consultancy services (AVMCS) that has catered to over 10,000 people with visa and migration services.

But what drove him towards this sector? “There was no one in 1994 to talk about migration, it was an unchartered territory, and very few people had knowledge or access to information. A world which was just seeing the start of mobile phones, brick size, CD rom, no internet, no Google at that time,” said Sanjay Deshwal.

“Another interesting reason was being an MBS and Engineer from India, I was always rejected for Engineering jobs as either too qualified or having no local experience,” he added.

Deshwal, who celebrated the silver jubilee of AVMCS, told, “Migration from its nascent stage at 1994 took off in big numbers, elections were won and lost on it, India which hardly sent any people became a dominating country from last 5 years. AVMCS was the first Indian migration company to have its own office in Sydney CBD and again the first one to have multiple”

When asked how he feels about the success of AVMCS, “Phenomenal! It took me by surprise how far we have come,” he said.

But with success comes challenges too, that his organisation had to overcome to reach where they are today. “There was no one to guide us or inform us, at the initial days. It was such a slow market that I had to operate part time, but the year 2000 changed it all and it became a big, massive business over the years,” he recalled.

Who does he give credit for the successful completion of 25 years of AVMCS? “Hard work”, he replies promptly. “Knowledge – being an Engineer from India , having the managerial skills and understanding from MBA from IMT Ghaziabad, MBA from University of Western Sydney – all adds up. Integrity and totally customer focused approach. I have always paid due diligence to quality –  for our clients. But, above all blessings of my mother,” he said with a smile.

AVMCS and its services have helped over10,000 clients over the years, dealing with visas of all kinds. “We deal with visas catering students, PR, citizenships, 482 work visas, family visas – parents , spouse, Business visas, among others. At present, due to COVID and travel restrictions, we are facing one of the bleakest years 2020 and 2021. But we are hopeful that things will get better soon.”

“We are known for the slogan – Migrate without Migraine, we abide by it”, he reiterated.
