Hindu benevolent fund – Support India Initiative

Hindu benevolent fund has been actively working during COVID crisis since April 2020 to help people impacted by COVID-19.

Last year, it provided food assistance to international students and others across Australia. It distributed food kits to around 15,000 individuals.

In the second phase of COVID crisis, Hindu benevolent fund has started working with NGO Sewa Bharti Delhi in India which is working on ground to assist people in providing Oxygen cylinders, oxygen concentrators, COVID isolation centers, mobile oxygen vans, food packs and running helpline.

Hindu benevolent fund raised appeal to collect funds in Australia. The response of generous community was tremendous.

On Sunday, 30th May 2021, Hindu benevolent fund organized two Fund raising events in Sydney. This was a unique and challenging task to make them successful on the same day and time.

The first event was held in A2B restaurant in Harris Park with medical professional community. The medical professionals discussed providing help on ground for next 6 months. They planned to send Air curve Machines to India which would help provide medical grade breathing support. Many sponsored cost of machine during the event.

The other event was organised at The Madison Function centre attended by people from all walks of life. Hon Phillip Ruddock Mayor of Hornsby, MP Julia Finn from Granville, Suman Saha and Lisa lake Councilors from Cumberland council also attended the event to support the cause.

The plan of Sewa Bharti work on ground was shared with participants.

The fund raising auctions were well supported by various business houses who attended the event.

Beautiful art work created on the spot in 10 minutes by Milli and Murthy Anjappa was the highlight as the artwork was auctioned as well.

Both events were well attended and supported with commitment to help Hindu benevolent fund to keep on supporting work on ground in India.
