Being a plus-size woman, they have commonly been body-shamed. Which is why, I intend to provide a platform for individuals to come out of a zone where they are stereotyped.

When people are bullying or body shaming, they need to look within themselves. I believe the meanness really comes from a place of insecurity.

Most women dream of being a queen with a glittering crown and a long, flowy gown.

I always wanted to do something with curvy women so I Decided to bring the curves curls to proudly showcase their elegance and sense of purpose.

After Curves & Curls season 1 & 2 we saw how women from south east Asia community started to embrace their  body image in a positive manner. “They being comfortable in their own skin and it takes a lot of time and everybody in their own journey of coming to that point. It’s very amazing and I’m grateful for the support our curves & Curls contestants received from their own families and communities in general.

Initial we auditioned 30 of the participants who were then shortlisted to 15 for the final . The finalists had a two-day of judging which started with grooming session, talks on mental  health , Interview round, Talent Round before the finale. The final rounds included Cultural Attire , Fitness Round and Gowns with Question & Answers.

Contestants admitted that by the final round, it was no longer about winning. They knew they had been given a platform to showcase who they really are and had already come further than they thought they would and had gained so much in the process.

Everyone is a winner in their own way and winning has only reinforced their belief that while one should not give up on a dream, one should not wait for circumstances to align in their favour.

Saying being slim is bad, neither we promoting an unhealthy lifestyle. Fitness is important. We promote body positivity, confidence and how self love is important because that when you start loving yourself is when you actually start being happy. Biggest takeaways from the Curves & Curls International Pageant were a re-focus on the basic values .
