The BJP Monday accused the Congress of “posturing” on the Telangana bill, saying the ruling party has no intention to pass it.
“Congress is only posturing on the Telangana bill. They are not serious about passing it,” Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ravishankar Prasad said.
“Congress is unable to control its own members. They are disrupting the house, they are not even serious about running parliament,” he said.
Stating that the draft of the Telangana bill has not yet been distributed, he said: “We haven’t got a copy of the draft bill. Today, I asked the presiding officer for a copy, he said he doesn’t know when the bill will be tabled in the Rajya Sabha.”
BJP supports the formation of Telangana but is likely to seek some amendments in the government’s bill. A final decision on the issue is likely to be taken in the BJP’s parliamentary party meet Tuesday.
