Multicultural Communities of Australia (MCA)’s unwavering commitment to sports in wider Australian communities has been recognised by South Australian Cricket Association (SACA) and Cricket Australia (CA).
- MCA has been announced as State Winners in “Inclusion and Diversity Initiative of the Year 2019-20” Category.
- MCA has also been announced as State Joint Winners along with Fitzroy Community Club in “Junior Cricket Initiative Of the Year 2019-20” category.
MCA has also been announced
as National Winner by Cricket Australia (CA) in the “Inclusion and Diversity
Initiative Of the Year 2019-20” Category and as well as National Winner along
with Fitzroy community club in the Junior Cricket Initiative Of the Year
2019-20” Category.
MCA is leading the way nationally in providing opportunities and quality
experiences to best engage with multiple families from many different
communities, including more than 850 junior participants and a women’s Super
Cricket team. In September 2019, a collaboration between MCA and Fitzroy
Community Club saw the rise of a Junior World Cup with 120 participants and
more than 600 people in attendance!
Advice from Multicultural Communities Australia saw Under 10 and Under 12 teams
invited to participate representing Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Nepal,
Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
This would not have been possible without MCA’s hard-working team, many
individuals, groups and organisations from various multicultural communities
who showed positivity and dedication for bringing gender equality,
harmony, integration and social cohesion through sports in wider Australian
communities.
The event drew the attention of local ethnic media, with several filmed
segments being broadcast locally and internationally in the subcontinent.
