Police Commands must be Fully Staffed to Deal with Outbreak of Gun Violence

Labor is calling on Police Minister David Elliott to make sure Police Area Commands and Police Districts are not left short staffed in the wake of the recent outbreak of gun violence. 

NSW Police resources are under pressure with officers leaving Police Commands to staff border patrols and quarantine arrangements

But after another shooting in Sefton, following a string of payback gun violence across the Sydney metropolitan area, police are under a great deal of pressure and need boots on the ground.

Shadow Minister for Police Lynda Voltz said: “Many police areas are losing between 10 – 15 police officers a week to support the Covid 19 operation.
