Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi will Feb 11 meet farmers in Haryana’s Ganaur town of Sonipat district, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said here Friday.
“Rahul Gandhi would visit Ganaur in district Sonipat Feb 11 where he would hold dialogue with different farmer organisations of the country so as to incorporate issues related to their interest in the national manifesto of the Congress party for the upcoming general elections,” Hooda told the media.
The chief minister is himself making arrangements for the function, official sources said.
“We have given invitations to farmer organisations across the country, and so far 21 states have sent their confirmation for participation in the event. About 400 farmer organisations are likely to attend,” Hooda said.
He said Gandhi will also lay the foundation stone of an international fruit and vegetable terminal in Ganaur.
