Multicultural community organisations can apply for over $500,000 Financial Assistance, under COVID-19 Community Support Grants program

Over $500,000 in funding to provide immediate assistance for basic necessities like food, transport and language support for vulnerable people have been announced by the NSW Government as relief measure, for Multicultural community organisations. The announcement comes in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Acting Minister for Multiculturalism Geoff Lee, stated, “The COVID-19 pandemic and measures to control its spread have presented significant challenges to our multicultural communities.

“The NSW Government will provide urgent support to communities in crisis through this quick response grants program.”

NSW organisations that prioritise immediate community care support are being invited to apply.

“Strong communities support each other through challenges. This funding will enable dedicated and committed individuals to continue to help the most vulnerable,” Mr Lee said.

“We have all heard great stories over the past few months about incredible communities assisting and helping where they can and that’s what makes NSW great.”
