Gulzar pens a poetic appeal in support of lockdown

Eminent poet-filmmaker-author Gulzar has penned a few lines in his inimitable poetic style, as an appeal for adherence during on the ongoing national lockdown.

He captioned the video as “Ghar me rahe.n, Mehfooz rahe.n (Stay home, stay safe)”.

Bada sakht waqt aan pada hai

Humein isse guzarna hoga

Balki, dua kijiye ke waqt jaldi se guzar jaaye

Waqt rehta nahin kahin pe tikkar

Iski aadat bhi aadmi si hai

Aap ruk jaaiye

Yeh waqt bhi nikal jaayega

Yeh waqt khairiyat se nikal jaaye

Uske liye aapka ruk jaana lazmi hai

Apne hi ghar mein nazarbandh hona zaroori hai

Ratan Tata pledges 500 crores amid COVID-19 crisis

In a statement released by eminent industrialist Ratan Tata, a donation of 500 crores amidst the COVID 19 outbreak by Tata Trust has been announced.  He posted the statement at his twitter account and also added, “The COVID 19 crisis is one of the toughest challenges we will face as a race. The Tata Trusts and the Tata group companies have in the past risen to the needs of the nation. At this moment, the need of the hour is greater than any other time.”Ever since the announcement the netizens are all praise in favour of the group.

Shah Rukh’s appeal: ‘India and Indians are one family’

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has tweeted to state that this is the time when all Indians must be united as “one family” and “do our little bit to look after each other”.

In a social media post he sent out on his Twitter handle @iamsrk, the actor wrote: “In these times it’s imp to make everyone around you working tirelessly for you.. not related to u.. to feel they are not alone and by themselves. Let’s just make sure we will do our little bit to look after each other. India and all Indians are One Family.”

“Given the enormity of the task, my team and I discussed ways to contribute in our own modest way. We have come up with a series of initiatives, which we hope will make a small difference. The efforts of our Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi ji coupled with the efforts of the Chief Ministers, Shri Uddhav Thackeray ji, Smt Mamata Banerjee, Shri Arvind Kejriwal and all other States and Union Territories leaders have been commendable in fighting this pandemic. We have initially focused our efforts on the three cities — Mumbai, Kolkata and New Delhi with the realization that this is a start and we stand ready to contribute in whichever way possible going forward,” the actor also said in the statement.
