The kids have spoken – Top Showbags at the Sydney Royal Easter Show

Long associated with the Sydney Royal Easter Show (the Show) (3-14 April), is the colourful line-up of Showbags available for purchase as a take-home souvenir at the end of a day’s fun.

This year was no different as 60 children from Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick and Royal Far West took on the task of sampling the whopping 355 Showbags available at the Show.

Showered with choice, the tiny testing team were also the first to experience the best of the best for 2020; the Top 10 Showbags and Top 5 Showbags $10 and under.

Manager of Operations and Product Development at the Show, Shane McGrath, said there’s guaranteed to be something for every taste and budget, with bags that’ll appeal to everyone from the sweet tooth to the cartoon lover, ranging from $2 to $30.

“Seen as a Show time icon, each year we like to make sure we provide plenty of new, on-trend and unique options, as well as the classics like the Bertie Beetle and Cadbury bags,” Mr McGrath said.

“The top Showbag picks for the year give visitors to the Show a preview of the latest and best value Showbags. They will all provide plenty of fun well after you’ve had your day out with us.”

  3. Save the best until last – visit the Showbag Pavilion at the end of the day, so you don’t have to carry your selections around. Or if you can’t wait, hire a locker, there are some available just outside the Showbag Pavilion.

Mr McGrath recommends using the Show website to help make savings across the board, with bargains not only to be had in the Showbag Pavilion.

“Early Bird Family ShowLink ticket prices are available for $99.50 when purchased online before midnight 2 April – so be sure to make use of this discount and get the most out of your day.”

“Kids’ Day on 14 April is second day of school holidays in NSW and also the last day of the Show, so children can join us at half price for just $13.50.”

Tickets can be purchased online, at 320 Woolworths stores and at the gate during the Show.

The Royal Agricultural Society of NSW Foundation (RASF) Ag Bag valued at over $70 raises money for community grants which support rural and regional New South Wales. This year, the Ag Bag will be sold at the RASF stand in the Home & Lifestyle pavilion at the Show for $20.
