Senior Indian Congress leader late Shri Sudini Jaipal Reddy’s condolence meeting was held at Club House in Stanhope Gardens, Sydney to mourn Shri. Sudini Jaipal Reddy’s demise on 28th July In Hyderabad, India. Siddharth Reddy welcomed the people and many NRI dignitaries Dr. Sri Rangareddy, Dr Bharti Reddy, Satyanarayana, Aravind Reddy, Maninder Singh (Blacktown City Councelor), Dr Yadu Singh, Venugopal Reddy, Govinda Reddy, Sandhya, Karri Buchi Reddy, Giri, Murthy, Upendar Reddy, Bharat Reddy, Dr.Eashwar, Rajasekhar, Nagaraj, Dayakar Reddy, Anil, Raj Badham, Rameshwar, Dr.Jyothi, Dr.Nagesh, Sumesh Reddy, Rami Reddy, Sri Pramod Sinha, PapiReddy,ChandrashekarReddy,Jaya,Manjula, Navneeth, Sunil, Raghu, Ashok, Rameshwar and many other community members were present.
Mourners spoke about how Shri Jaipal Reddy studied Philosophy in Osmania University, Hyderabad. He was a student leader and a good orator in Telugu and English. He was influenced in thinking by Swamy Vivekananda, Tagore, Arabindo, Jayprakash Narayan, Gandhi and other great philosophers. Shri SudiniJaipal Reddy’s was highly knowledgeable, studied various subjects including philosophy, economics, literature, sociology, history, political science and Telugu & English literature.
Shri Jaipal Reddy’s political life span spanned over 50 years. He was elected to the legislative assembly of Andhra Pradesh state four times, Rajya Sabha twice, and five times to Lokh Sabha. He believed in individual freedom and democracy. Shri SudiniJaipal Reddy received outstanding parliamentarian award in 1998. He was a central cabinet minister and held various portfolios including information & broadcasting, urban development, petroleum and natural gas, earth sciences and technology. Shri Jaipal Reddy introduced various reforms and never succumbed to the pressures of big business houses. He introduced live telecast of parliament proceedings so that public understand how their elected representatives work for the development of the country. He worked for press freedom and independence. Shri Jaipal Reddy initiated metro services in large cities and was aware of the problems and struggles faced by disadvantaged and weaker sections of people in the society and supported reservations and quotas for the disadvantaged sections.
Mourners expressed that with passing away of Shri Jaipal Reddy on 28th July, India lost a great thinker, parliamentarian, writer, believer in personal freedom, independence and democracy. Mourners observed two minutes silence and prayed for his soul to rest in peace.
Mourners requested Aravind to pass on sincere condolences to Mrs. Jaipal Reddy and their three children and grandchildren. Finally, Siddharth Reddy thanked all who came to condolence meeting and concluded the event.
