The Fashionable way to Women Empowerment!

Tiya Gorain and Manisha Sharma both share the same passion – helping and empowering women. They have been organising fashion photoshoots, among other things, to provide a platform for women professionals and entrepreneurs in the fashion industry, to showcase their talents and products like fashion designers, boutique owners, models, photographers, makeup artist and so on through Allure & Attitude (https://www.facebook.com/allureandattitude/)

Recently they met Amanda Sluiter, who owns ‘The Old New’ Boutique (https://theoldnew.com.au), a clothing shop based on sustainability and re-cycling. They found her story very inspirational and decided to help organise a fashion photoshoot for her which would showcase her boutique’s beautiful outfits, shoes and accessories and provide the boutique further exposure.

Amanda worked as an embryologist, helping couples through the cycle of having a child. However she herself had difficulty conceiving, as she was suffering from kidney problems since she was eighteen. She also had endometriosis. Because of her own situation, she could empathise with her patients, and could understand what they were going through.

After surgery and fertility treatment, she got lucky and had two beautiful children. But ten months after her second child was born, she had to have a kidney transplant. She was thinking of going back to work but her husband felt that it won’t be a wise decision for her to go back to work after a kidney transplant. So she bought ‘The Old New’ (a clothing business) and decided to run it and see where it goes. She got a very pleasant surprise one day, when Joanna Griggs from ‘Better Homes and Gardens’, came up to her and said they would like to renovate her backyard for her. They renovated her backyard and garage and turned her garage into a boutique. Tara Dennis designed most of it.

Having a space for business at home means a lot to Amanda. It means less exposure to bugs (she is immunosuppressed due to the kidney transplant) and more time with her kids who were both born prematurely.

Despite so many setbacks brave Amanda has a beautiful family now and is running a successful business. Her story moved Tiya and Manisha and they wanted to help her in achieving further success in her business.

The photoshoot organised by Allure & Attitude greatly helped Amanda‘s business. The models looked gorgeous, the outfits were stunning and the photography was incredible. The photos caught everyone’s eye and drew more crowd to the boutique.

Tiya and Manisha are both successful and inspirational business-women themselves, helping other women achieve their dreams, goals and targets.
