Care One Care All Group (COCAG) joined hands with Turbans 4 Australia and other charity groups namely Aus Relief, Harman Foundation and Australian Horizons Foundation under Drought Appeal 2018. Amar Singh of Turbans 4 Australia with support from the above organisations planned a road trip to Coonamble to help desperate drought affected farming families and local aboriginal community. The teams travelled all the way from Sydney to Coonamble and arrived in Coonamble around mid day.
The teams were heartily welcomed by the local Mayor and local charity groups helping the needy in the Coonamble district.
At a little get together, Turbans 4 Australia along with other sister organisations handed over IGA gift vouchers worth $7500 to the needy and to support the local business. Aus Relief provided Christmas gifts & books to kids, house hold, sanitary and other usable items to the needy families.
A local resident Kairen said, “The drought has broken up, however, the families and businesses are still affected by the devastating effects of drought and many families are still struggling. It is called the green drought. Many of the affected families still have not received financial assistance from the government and every help at this hour of need helps”.
People in the country need community support and we should do more of such activities from time to time. It was a very nice experience. Thank You was coming from the bottom of hearts of everyone in the town.
