A hidden gem from Dehradun a small town in India, Amit Singh Saini now calls Australia home having been based in Melbourne for the past five years. Amit balances his time between acting, modelling, dancing, and has experience as a TV host, MC, Aerospace Engineer, Fashion Designer, Stylist and Marketing manager. There really is no stopping this handsome boy next door, who is the ultimate jack of all traits.
Born to Parents Sher Singh and Baljit Kaur in July 1992, Amit finished his schooling from Dehradun and moved to the United Kingdom to study Aerospace engineering. After completing his bachelor’s degree, he came to Australia to pursue his master’s degree.
Like any other Punjabi guy, Amit confesses to be a food lover and at the time of completing his master’s he weighed in at over 115kg. It was important to Amit to make his parents proud, and to follow his passion for acting, modelling and dancing. His modelling journey first began with him undergoing a drastic transformation and losing over 40kg.
He began to compete in a few pageants and won several titles most notable Mr Bollywood King 2016, and runner up for Mr. Diamond Australia 2017. Other titles include Mr Intelligent (Mr Punjab Australia 2016), Mr Handsome (Mr Punjab Australia 2016) Mr Public Choice 2017 (Mr Diamond Australia 2017), Mr Elegance 2017 (Mr Diamond Australia 2017), Star face award in IFEFA (International Film Festival and Entertainment award) and latest one is Mr British Empire 2018 in world finals.
His pageant journey soon led to many new opportunities, and he was able to fulfill his dream career – working as an actor, model, dancer, TV host and an aerospace engineer. Recently he starred in the Music video for Miss Pooja, an international artist and well known within the Bollywood and Punjabi industry. He has also appeared on Australia based Indian TV shows and recently finished work on Flavours of India – a cooking competition show for Sabrang TV channel. He has appeared many times on the famous Australian TV series Neighbours. Amit believes his success is due to his strong work ethic, and says that he is always ready to take on new challenges in life as long as it’s not harming anyone.
A quality of Amit is being very loyal to all who been central to his journey, most important his family and it’s clear he loves them dearly. He feels blessed that god has given him amazing parents back in India, and now in Australia has the support of his Finance business director Mr Bhupendra Sethia, Maxine Salma and his friends . They are all key sources of inspiration to him. His parents have always taught him to respect others and to keep working hard, whereas Mr Sethia & Ms Maxine has taught him to give back and do things for others.
Amit supports many national and international charity organisations, but does not believe in discussing this. He is motivated by making a difference and bringing a positive change in others life. Amit hopes he can inspire others with his journey, and show to people that we can all out follow our passion and live our dreams as long as we work hard and do everything with the best of intentions.
“I want to be a role model”: Amit Singh Saini talks to Indus Age:
By Nidhi Kumari
Tell us how you’re feeling to win this title?
I feel very proud, because of of two reason – one is I was the only Indian among all the white guys and second is I represented Melbourne Australia . It’s a great feeling when you are from one country which you are definitely representing but also representing the other country where you are living now . So, two countries’ representation was a honour .
What all preparation you went through during the process ?
As its was a beauty Pageant, I had to focus on my body, my face , my clothes and of course my confidence on stage .
I have been so far on free healthy diet , gym and was going through lot of training for my walk and public speaking .
How was reaction when your name as the winner was announced?
I was shocked because I never imagined that I will come out as winner as being Indian among all white contestants, it’s a tough job and I had tears in my eye and also a proud feeling in my head.
What are your future plans ?
I want to use this title to be voice of others . I want to be a role model for others by doing some great work for the community . I want to do something for kids too.
