A small time street-smart antique dealer doubling as a con-man, Kishan is an Atheist married to a very religious woman. The household brims with arguments vis-a-vis religion and superstitions culminating into hilarious consequences at home.
As a sudden unfortunate event strikes in the form of an Earthquake, Kishan’s shop is destroyed and Kishan is confident to get his insurance claim, the premium for which he diligently pays for decades.
As fate would have it, the insurance company refuses the claim citing it to be an ‘Act Of God’. After much debate and unsuccessful attempts, Kishan sues God since it was an Act of God that destroyed his shop.
This decision leads to sudden media frenzy and a shock within his circle of family and friends who are always in conflict with him questioning his decision.
Kishan despite being a lay-man, decides to fight his own case. While intense arguments and some humorous dialogues ensue the Courtroom drama, God visits him in person to warn him that he will be unsuccessful in winning the case and hence should withdraw.
On being convinced, that Kishan is an ordinary man fighting for his rights and unearthing scams in the name of religion, God often shows him ways to defeat the people against him and aid him in this fight for the Truth.
On the one hand, while he wins the case, God shows him a miracle to prove he is the One and breaks the news to him of Kishan’s last day on Earth.
Ironically, The Media makes him a Demi-God while the religious priests who are busy creating a fake goddess name Ekakshimaa are busy in Marketing her Launch in the religious market. On realizing another business opportunity to con people and take advantage of peoples’ faith in Kishan, they put their existing project of ek-akshimaa on hold and further their gimmicks to turn Kishan into a God himself. The people ofcourse continue the drill of praying and set up temples in the name of Kishan who is now revered all around.
This version of the play has interesting and hilarious new character additions in the form of an eccentric thug, Kaala baba Bangali, Ek-Akshimaa and many more along with some very sensible and contemporary arguments about religion, superstition and faith.
