Celebrate 160 years of Hills sport

Sports buffs are in for a treat with cricket legends Doug Walters and Len Pascoe visiting the Hills to celebrate 160 years of grass roots cricket in the area with tales from inside Australian cricket.

Doug and Len will entertain at an evening event on 31 August at the Castle Hill RSL Club hosted by Castle Hill RSL Cricket Club, which started playing in 1858.

Castle Hill RSL Cricket Club president, Carl Spears, said it was great to have two larrikins of the game lead the celebration of a proud history of sport in the Hills.

“We’re looking forward to Doug and Len presenting their sports show with a difference,” Mr Spears said.

“The show will include comedy, sports stories, tales from the dressing room as well as video and audio archives from their days with the Australian Cricket team.”

The night also includes a two-course meal with celebration cake as dessert, a live covers band playing everyone’s favourite hits. All house beer, wine and soft drink are included in the package.

“Although the club is organising the night, the event is for anyone to come and celebrate the area’s sports history with a fun night of food entertainment and two greats of the game of cricket,” Mr Spears said.

The event is at the Castle Hill RSL Club on Friday 31 August at 7pm. Tickets are $99 per person or $950 for a table of ten. For more information or purchase tickets: https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/celebrating-160-years-of-cricket-in-the-hills-tickets-46688706177.
