A human resources department is a most critical component to well-being in any business, regardless of the size of the organization. Primarily because, the human resource involves overseeing all things related to managing human capital, which is an asset. There are several crucial decisions to take to manage manpower like recruitment, reshuffling of existing employees, promotion and termination. Moreover, the responsibility of maintaining healthy and positive work environment comes on the shoulder of HR department.
The recruitment at an organization is highly important and sensitive process. Am I right? It requires immense care on the part of the selectors that they select the people who are best suited for that particular job. Have you ever thought or experienced to hire a wrong candidate? What is the cost of the wrong candidate?
In an age of growing crime, it’s tremendously important that dishonest individuals never get a chance to permeate in organizations. If a wrong candidate selected for any position, it may cause loss of money, time and most important trade secrets. The money spent on the candidate and time given for recruiting and training is enormous. And again, procedure starts for re-recruiting for the same position. Ultimately, it is wastage of time and money. Even more important, the trade secret of the company is highly confidential, hence the loss of the same may cost to the organization is unpredictable, it may be hazardous to company’s reputation and business as well.
Let’s see how to overcome those issues. I, as an expert grapho-therapist, can suggest that graphology offers the solution to ease the burden of HR activities and develop confidence in his/her decision. Firstly, for hiring, there are various tools used like CV filtration, interviews and sometimes written or computerized exam. Those have been quite effective but it cannot reveal the potential, inherent skills, strength and weaknesses of candidates. If a position needs soft skills such as good negotiating and communication and an ability to control their temper when under pressure, a person may be able to demonstrate these skills at interview but their handwriting can reveal a different story. Here, graphology can facilitate to know such important traits of a candidate, depending on the position. For an instance, the research and development department need dedication and accounts department need an analytical thinking. Graphology is an economical, cost-effective tool for revealing a person’s strengths, weaknesses and potentially hidden talents because it cannot be manipulated. Using graphology can not only cut down on the initial recruitment costs it can also help in the longer term. Getting the right person for the job will improve the company’s staff retention rate, saving on the costs of having to re-hire at regular intervals. Furthermore, the risk of trade secrets can be decreased by this tool because the handwriting of the candidate can say whether he/she is loyal and honest for the firm or not. How much better to have this knowledge available at the early recruitment stage and to be able to screen out unsuitable candidates at this point avoiding costly mistakes later.
Secondly, the use of graphology is not limited to hiring but it helps in shuffling, termination and promotion as well. I highly recommend getting the help of the tool to take any decision of any employee related to his/her position. Promotion or change the department of any employee is almost like applying for a new job. Generally, the skills, dedication and integrity are proven, but, whether the promotion or reshuffling the employee can handle the new or more responsibilities or not. As far as the decision of termination is concerned just because of his/her performance in particular position is not favourable. Graphology can highlight the positive and inherent skills which can be utilized in other department or position. Even more, graphologist can even recognize the suspicious employees for the organization just from the handwriting of existing employees.
Lastly, in brief with the help of graphology and grapho-therapy HR build healthy work environment and solve the internal and inter-department conflicts. Most problems in the workplace are related to interpersonal relationships and conflicts due to personality clashes. Eventually, it creates stress on employees. Stress affects nearly one out of four workers and studies conducted show that between 50% and 60% of all working days missed is due to stress. This leads to enormous costs in terms of human dissatisfaction and serious problems for the company’s profits. Employees’ character, aptitude and behaviour, are so important as professional qualifications and skills. As you know pretty well from previous articles that grapho-therapy can enhance the positive traits and overcome the negative traits of a person. Using grapho-therapy, a company’s HR department can help employees in getting rid of negative character traits that improve their work efficiency. Using workshops and group sessions, HR can focus on changing handwriting of employees that will improve their personality. Hence, the employer can maximum use the human source. Ultimately, it reflects the productivity of the organization and gear up the profit.
