Dia Mirza awarded ‘Woman of Substance & Green Crusader’ by Miss India Australia Beauty award.
Bollywood Princess Dia Mirza ‘the star judge’ arrived in Blacktown Bowman Hall in a royal palanquin accompanied with drummers to the delight of 500 people who had jam packed the venue for the Grand Finale of Miss/Mrs/Mr India Australia 2018 on 14th April 2018.
Under the banner of Maharaja’s Haveli -Mr Satinder Benepal & Miss India Australia Corporation -Ms Reena Koak, co-organisers had put on a stylish and sophisticated show Sydney had never seen before. The night had everything; 26 hot and sizzling contestants from all around Australia, fashion glitz and glamour, triumphs and disappointments, music entertainment and food.. everyone left the venue jubilated.
Ms. Dia Mirza delighted the audience by coming on stage in a gorgeous Manish Malhotra outfit with the organisers before being seated at the judges table amongst; Miss Mary Mehajer –Miss Lebanon Australia ,Craig Kelly MP, Ms Madison Croft –International Model, Miss Brooke Murray -Miss Continents Oceania, Mr. Bipin Sharma.
The contest began with round 1 – Traditional wear and Introductions. Early nerves soon disappeared as the contestants smiled, sashayed, swayed and charmed with confidence in the following rounds round 2 – Fitness and Swimwear, round 3 -Cocktail wear and round 4 – Evening wear. Competition was fierce in all 3 (Miss/Mr/MRS) categories keeping the judges on their toes. An interval was announced. The judges scores were consolidated, corporate guests enjoyed silver service, VIP guests enjoyed a buffet dinner and also had the opportunity to pose with gorgeous diva Dia Mirza during a Meet and Greet. Then the show went towards the final question & answer round where top 12 finalists were announced from each categories and each finalist got an opportunity to answer questions asked by judging panel.
Chief Guest Dia Mirza was invited on stage to speak and commended the organisers and told of events of this nature contributing greatly towards the success of the Indian Diaspora in Australia. She was delighted to be part of the evening and put across her thoughts about environmental conservation, human rights and air quality in Sydney.
Dia Mirza was awarded “Woman of Substance & Green Crusader Award” under Miss India Australia 2018 awards for her work towards environmental conservation & as a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador.
Dia Mirza was very impressed and gave a positive feedback while she made her way back to India.
