With only two full days left of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, the Indian athletes are set to bring some their best performances to the remaining events, with the last remaining medals up for grabs!
Indian women’s doubles pair Sikki Reddy and Ashwini Ponnappa will join forces for the badminton semifinals tomorrow at Carrara Sports and Leisure Centre, with the hopes of making it through to the gold medal final on Sunday! In squash, the women’s doubles pair favourites and reigning Commonwealth Games champions, Joshna Chinappa and Dikipa Pallikal Karthik will take on the semifinals tomorrow as well, hoping to also make it through to the gold-medal match.
India will also have a strong presence in tomorrow’s table tennis semifinals, with a mixed doubles team to face and English team, and Manika Batra set to take on a Singaporean favourite in the women’s singles match.
In boxing, all eyes will be on India’s beloved MC Mary Kom, who will take on Northern Ireland in the women’s 45-48kg gold medal final in boxing. The Indian women’s hockey team will also face England in a tough match for the bronze medal.
The final day of wrestling is also set to commence tomorrow morning and will feature Indian-born Rupinder Kaur competing for Team Australia against Canada in the women’s freestyle 50kg nordic round.
