Delhi Law Minister Somnath Bharti, who has been criticised for his midnight raid against some African women in the capital, Saturday said he would not have committed his “alleged mistakes” had he been aware of the procedures.
“I am not aware of procedures. If I would have known them, I would not have made these alleged mistakes,” Bharti told lawyers on the eve of Republic Day at the Saket district courts premises.
“I am doing things for you (common man). I went on a raid late at night, risking my life,” he said.
“Many took me wrong. My intention was good, but it was projected in a wrong way,” the minister said.
