The Supreme Court Tuesday agreed to hear two PILs seeking action against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Law Minister Somnath Bharti for creating chaos in the heart of the capital by going on in an unprecedented 10-day sit-in protest.
The apex court bench headed by Chief Justice P. Sathasivam said they will hear the PILs on Friday.
The petitioners, advocate M.L. Sharma and another advocate, said the chief minister was supposed to maintain law and order but was instead creating a law and order problem by his ongoing agitation seeking suspension from service of five policemen.
The Aam Aadmi Party has alleged the policemen did not cooperate with Somnath Bharti during his vigilante-style raid last week and with minister Rakhi Birla on her complaint concerning “improper action” in a dowry case.
