“My big break can, be attributed to my painful good looks,” Rakesh Dasgupta

You were introduced to Rakesh Dasgupta a year back; the well grounded, mature and focussed individual hasn’t stopped chasing his dreams. His ardent hardwork and love for acting has landed him in a dream project ‘Down Under’ now showing in selected theatres across the country.

“As a child I’ve always wanted to be an actor and had my first feature film ‘Down Under’ released just recently in Australia. Born and raised in the middle of poverty in India, I have had my share of ups and downs,” Rakesh Dasgupta said.

The Down Under actor who became an instant overnight sensation after the amazing film got released, has now become one of the most upcoming promising actors making his way to Hollywood. A chance only a few lucky and gifted actors get in a lifetime.

Dasgupta does an exceptional job playing the role in Down Under showing the multiple sides of his emotions when acting. “I play the role of an arrogant individual who ends up revealing his timid nature while being placed at gun point,” said Rakesh. The film’s awesomeness aside, it is Dasgupta’s new-found career that is the real revelation. Simply put, he has stumbled upon a window of opportunity that few are likely to enjoy.  “It’s not an insult to suggest that my big break can, be attributed to my painful good looks,” says Rakesh. With no previous acting experience, he earned his stripes through months of training to play the role in the movie ‘Down Under’.

Dasgupta 32,  had very little acting experience before he landed the role in ‘Down Under’ and to be honest, his part in the film wasn’t even substantial compared to the leading actors of the film. But when Dasgupta made screen time, you noticed. The captivating facial expressions, combined with his innocent look, all catered to making his role an integral part of the movie. In other words, he had arrived.

He‘s gone a long way with the help of his agency TCM to make his grand vision come true. The journey continues and for Rakesh Dasgupta it’s an “awesome one”!
