An event organised by the Australia-India Women Entrepreneurs Forum
Indian government diplomats and ambassadors of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2017 converged with Australian senior government leaders, business owners, sole traders and entrepreneurs at a Networking Luncheon organised by the Australia-India Women Entrepreneurs Forum (AIWEF), with the support of Tax Planners.
The event took place on Sunday, July 31, 2016, at Tandoori Flames (15, Vernon Street, South Kingsville, VIC 3015), and showcased the immense potential that Gujarat offers Australia and the rest of the world through the Vibrant Gujarat endeavour, the brainchild of Mr Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India.
The Honourable Tim Watts, Federal Member of Parliament for Gellibrand; Mr Pankaj Kumar, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation, India; Mr Stephen Manallack, President of the Victoria Chapter, Australia India Business Council, Australia; Mr Rakesh Malhotra, Consul and Head of Chancery, Consulate General of India, Australia; Ms Manjula Pooja Shroff, Chairperson, Karolex Foundation, India; and, Mr Paresh Davey, Senior Vice President, Reliance Ltd., were among the 50-plus guests that graced this occasion.
Sharing his thoughts about the event, The Honourable Tim Watts said: “I think it is events like these that build the human-to-human bridges that can support the trade and investment that we want to see happen between India and Australia. [To that effect], I think this was a really, really important initiative.”
The platform also hosted a panel discussion on “India-Australia: The Relationship of Mutual Benefit”, featuring Mr Palak Sheth, Director of Planning and Development, Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, Gujarat, India; and Ms Rohini Kappadath, Make in India Ambassador and Chair of Multicultural Ministerial Advisory Council. It addressed the current business environment of India and the ways in which Australian businesses can tap into the new markets there that present enormous growth opportunities.
The Founder of AIWEF, Ms Nildhara Gadani, said: “Vibrant Gujarat is a great platform for the Australian business community. This event is significant because it brought together like-minded individuals from both India and Australia who want to participate in Vibrant Gujarat and see, first-hand, how it can help transform their businesses.”
