Under the 2016–17 Celebrating Multicultural Queensland grants program, funding will be available under two separate grant rounds. One round will be for multicultural events and celebrations to be held in calendar year 2017 and the other round will be for multicultural projects to commence in financial year 2017-18.
Please be advised that the 2016-17 grants round for multicultural events is now open.
Through the 2016–17 multicultural events grants round, funding will be allocated to events across Queensland with up to $20,000 available under the Signature Events category, and up to $10,000 under the Cultural Events category.
Community groups, local councils and non-government organisations that involve or support migrants and refugees from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds are eligible for funding under the Celebrating Multicultural Queensland grants program – Multicultural Events.
In particular, applications for events that demonstrate the following are welcome:

- appreciation and recognition of diverse cultures in Queensland
- celebrate the culture and heritage of established or small and emerging communities
