NSW REMAINS THE STRONGEST PERFORMER

The ANZ Stateometer has once again shown that the NSW economy is the strongest in the nation and continues to outperform the other states.

Treasurer Gladys Berejiklian welcomed the monthly report, which measures economic performance across the states and territories, and said it was pleasing to see that the NSW economy continued to grow at above trend rates.

The Stateometer found NSW was the only state where economic activity was above trend and accelerating.

“Yet another report has declared the NSW economy is the nation’s best performer,” Ms Berejiklian said. “For some time, NSW has been ahead of the nation in the key areas of jobs growth, building activity and retail trade.

“The great news is that a strong economy generates even more activity and positivity, which means NSW is likely to experience even more growth.

“The hard work of the NSW Government has delivered these strong results and we will continue to work hard to deliver the jobs, services and infrastructure our State needs,” Ms Berejiklian said.
