A benchmark index of Indian equities markets was trading flat at 28.93 points or 0.14 percent down in the pre-noon trade Thursday.
Selling pressure was seen in auto and fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) sectors, while good buying was observed in metal sector.
The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 21,366.91 points, was trading at 21,260.56 points in the pre-noon session, down 28.93 points or 0.14 percent from the previous day’s close at 21,289.49 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 21,379.29 points and a low of 21,236.95 points during the trade so far.
The S&P BSE metal index gained 159.10 points, while auto index plummeted by 98.54 points and FMCG index dropped by 64.42 points.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) trading flat at 6.50 points or 0.10 percent down at 6,314.40 points.
