Mumbai, Since singer-composer Shankar Mahadevan is facing health issues, singer Sonu Nigam will now pay a tribute to Swami Chinmayananda at a charity concert ‘Spirit of India’ here.
The concert, which is a part of the Chinmaya Ananda Utsav, is dedicated to the late spiritual leader.
Mahadevan reportedly suffered a heart attack and was admitted to a hospital here on December 6 after he complained of chest pain. But he has said he is “recovering well”.
‘Spirit of India’ concert will take place on Sunday at Sri Shanmukhananda Chandrasekarendra Saraswathi Auditorium here, bringing under one roof youth, corporates, industrialists, acharyas, members and trustees of various Chinmaya Mission Trusts and businessmen who are followers of the mission.
Sonu, who is known for his versatile voice, said in a statement: “I am happy to perform for the Spirit of India concert by Chinmaya Mission Mumbai and offer my tribute to Swami Chinmayananda in his birth centenary.”
“I will try to offer my music with all humility to all the devotees and listeners and I hope it will be an evening to remember. So let’s come together and celebrate the Spirit of India.”
The Chinmaya Ananda Utsav will be held from December 13 to 20.
