Children’s Day organised first time in Adelaide by Federation of Indian Communities in South Australia. All their events are open for members and non-members. They aim towards unity in diversity by uniting all the regional associations of Indian diaspora in South Australia.
At the cultural children’s festival, Bollywood performances, flavoursome curries, traditional dress and a magic show, Cricket Training by Redback player Cam Valante and the SACA team were among the main attractions.
The event was hosted at Mawson Lakes’ Denison Centre on 14th November 2015.
It also featured a Rubik’s cube competition, cultural painting workshops and a presentation by the Australian Airforce League.
Makin MP Tony Zappia and Salisbury Mayor Gillian Aldridge also attended the event.
The Federation’s Public Relations Officer Nancy Choudary said, “Our mission is to help, support, train and build, stronger self-reliant and resilient ethnic migrant communities.”
“We aim to achieve these objectives through various programs and activities, including education, arts, culture, language, sports, employment training, sustainable development and empowerment of our women, children, youth, adults and seniors,” Ms Choudary added.
The FICSA team thanked all volunteers, parents and their Committee members, participants for taking part.
