One of the nation’s biggest sporting rivalries will be unleashed again on Saturday night with a capacity crowd set to descend on Allianz Stadium for the Sydney Derby between Sydney FC and Western Sydney Wanderers.
Minister for Sport Stuart Ayres said the Derby has become one of the most anticipated events on the Australian sporting calendar.
“Sydney is home to two of the most passionate sets of supporters in the nation and this local matchup always creates a fantastic event for everyone,” Mr Ayres said.
“Whether you are from the Coogee or Camden, Cronulla or Castle Hill, this game brings all Sydneysiders together for a great occasion that never disappoints.
“With more than 40,000 fans expected, Allianz Stadium will be a kaleidoscope of colour, from The Cove to the RBB.
“The Sydney Derby is a great occasion for all ages, so I urge fans to show their passion and enjoy the spectacle in a safe, family friendly environment.”
