2000 REASONS FOR SMALL BUSINESSES TO HIRE NEW EMPLOYEES

nowhiringMinister for Finance, Services and Property Dominic Perrottet and Minister for Small Business John Barilaro have welcomed the commencement of an information roadshow on the NSW Government’s Small Business Grants employment incentive scheme.

The $27 million scheme provides eligible businesses with a $2,000 grant for each new full-time worker they employ, and a pro-rated grant for new part-time and casual workers.  The scheme is part of the Baird-Grant Government’s commitment to deliver 150,000 new jobs to New South Wales over the next four years.

Mr Perrottet said the roadshow would see representatives from the Office of State Revenue visit more than 50 regional centres over two weeks (see attached schedule), to help small businesses understand how they can benefit from the scheme.

“This program provides an important incentive for businesses to employ more people, and that’s a great thing for the people of NSW, so we want to make sure small businesses across the state know all about it.”

“The Baird-Grant Government is committed to making sure NSW is not only the place to do business in Australia, but also where people can be assured of the security that having a job brings,” Mr Perrottet said.

Mr Barilaro said this is an investment in small businesses and an incentive for businesses to take an opportunity and expand their business.

“Small businesses in NSW are the champions who create new jobs, and this scheme will further bolster business confidence in NSW to deliver more jobs,” Mr Barilaro said. “The initiative is a forward thinking, business-focused approach by the NSW Government to provide a stronger foundation for small businesses to invest and grow in NSW.”
