Mumbai 11th August 2015: Produced by Carnival Group in association with Carnival Media, Carnival Cinemas
launched the People’s Anthem today at its Oshiwara property. Mr PV Sunil, CEO & Director of Carnival Cinemas,
Mr Saurabh Saxena, COO of Carnival Cinemas along with singer Benny Dayal unveiled the video of the People’s
Anthem. The anthem will be screened from 15th August at all Carnival Cinemas screens across India. Directed and
conceptualized by Flying Birds Studios, singers Rekha Bharadwaj, Salim Merchant and Shilpa Rao have also given
their voices to the anthem.
Mr Shrikant Bhasi, Chairman of Carnival Group said, “Carnival Group is proud to announce that for the first time
in India a National Anthem – People’s Anthem is coming which is based on common people who run this country.
People who have been faceless or whom we don’t know, but without them the country gets immobilized for e.g. Auto
and taxi driver, chaiwala, newspaper vendor, milkman, security guard, h ouse maids and so on. It is about their
contribution to our nation, economy and our lives .They are the real heroes, the unsung heroes who are doing their bit
every day without asking for any credit. It’s about WE THE PEOPLE.”
He further added, “We have produced a new “National Anthem” music video, which is a new take compared to all the
existing National Anthems done so far. All the National Anthems which we have seen so far are about celebrities or
people in a profession of serving the nation. For example police force, army, artists, musicians, singers, etc except few
which are on children.”
About People’s Anthem:
It’s a song for our nation, about our nation and on our Nation. Our Nation stands for unity in diversity with varied
cultures, religions, life styles and languages. This is our attempt to capture the spirit of India in its truest form.
Dabba delivery guys, drivers, news paper vendors, cobblers, construction workers, house maids, drainage cleaners,
luggage cart puller, postmen, bus conductors, waiters in restaurants, gardeners, security guards, road side tea vendors,
social workers, teacher in small schools, salt workers, carpenters, fishermen are some of them.
They all are part and parcel of our lives, they are the Real India. Without them we all are paralyzed. This anthem will
change our perception towards the real heroes. It’s a tribute to their contribution, their hard work, their sweat and
efforts, their spirit. It’s time that when we stand up for National Anthem this time, we stand up for them. We stand up
for the people who are the blood veins of our nation!
