India’s longest running detective TV series “CID” is giving a chance to viewers to complete an incomplete story by giving a unique twist to it via a contest.
As part of the ‘Shaatir Lekhak Contest’, starting from July 10, the audiences will be given an incomplete story with clues and they will be expected to conclude it on their own. The winning story will be featured as an episode and will win exciting prizes.
“‘CID’ is our longest running show and it enjoys immense popularity and connect with our viewers. Everyone who has grown up with the show has nurtured a desire to write a dialogue, a scene, a character or a plot for ‘CID’. Now fans of CID, who have loved the mysteries get a chance to conclude an incomplete story in their style,” Gaurav Seth, senior vice president and head marketing, Sony Entertainment Television, said in a statement.
To participate in the contest, one has to register on the website cid.setindia.com on which three storylines will be mentioned. Out of which participants can pick any one and complete it.
The winning story will be telecast as an episode on CID.
“Through the ‘Shatir Lekhak Contest’ we seek direct participation and involvement from across India. We think it’s a unbelievable opportunity for fans to connect with their favourite show,” Seth added.
The show, which started its run in 1998, stars Shivaji Satam, Aditya Srivastava and Dayanand Shetty among others.

Chetan Bhagat to dance on ‘Nach Baliye 7’ finale
During the “Nach Baliye 7” journey, author Chetan Bhagat, one of the judges of the dance reality show, has been approached by many to show off his dancing skills on stage, and he refused. But he is ready to make an exception for the finale.
Bhagat’s style of judging the show has been in the spotlight after his fellow judges – actress Preity Zinta and choreographer Marzi Pestonji — started pestering him to show if he can dance.
He has always insisted that his contract has “no dance” and “no nudity” clause and that he will stay true to it. But it seems that he has taken Preity’s dare a little too seriously and is now ready to dance in the Star Plus show’s grand finale.
Bhagat is spending five to six hours daily at a gym and is trying to learn some dance moves. Also, his wife will join in for the finale episode.
“Everyone has been insisting that I dance on the show, so now I have finally decided to do a little number. My dance instructors are well aware that even though they might have choreographed big stars, my dance will be remembered for much longer,” Bhagat said in a statement.
Moreover, Bhagat will dance on the title track of “Boss” and will also be sporting a new look to go with the act.
The show has four ‘jodis’ to perform for the finale on July 19. These include Karishma Tanna-Upen Patel, Rashami Desai-Nandish Sandhu, Amruta Khanvilkar-Himanshu Malhotra and Mayuresh-Ajeesha Shah.
