Bollywood Princess SOHA ALI KHAN ‘the star judge’ arrived at the beautifully transformed Blacktown Bowman Hall in a royal palanquin to the delight of 800 people who had jam packed the venue for the Grand Finale of Miss/Mrs/Mr India Australia – Touch the Soul 2015 beauty pageant held on 19th June, 2015.
Under the banner of Maharaja’s Haveli Mr. Satinder Benepal & Miss India Australia Corporation Ms Reena Koak, co-organisers had put on a stylish and sophisticated show, Sydney had never seen before. The night had everything; 30 hot and sizzling contestants from all around Australia, fashion glitz and glamour, triumphs and disappointments, music, entertainment and food. Everyone left the venue in jubilance.
Mrs. Soha Ali Khan delighted the audience by coming on stage in a gorgeous Anushree Reddy lehenga with the organisers before being seated at the judges table amongst; Mr Alex Hawke – Fedral MP for Mitchell, Ms Nicole Eljed – Miss Lebanon Emigrant Australia, Ms Corrine Tansley – Former Miss Swimwear Australia 2008, Ms Rani Benepal – retired IT Applications Software Development Manager and Mr Gaganjit Singh Barnala – Former MLA Punjab.
The contest began with round 1 – Traditional wear and Introduction. Early nerves soon disappeared as the contestants smiled, sashayed, swayed and charmed with confidence in the following rounds round 2 – Fitness and Swimwear, round 3 -Cocktail wear and round 4 – Evening wear. Competition was fierce in all 3 (Miss, Mr and Mrs) categories keeping the judges on their toes. After a while an interval was announced. The judges’ scores were consolidated; VIP guests enjoyed a buffet dinner and also had the opportunity to pose with Soha Ali Khan during Meet and Greet.
Chief Guest the Honorable Mayor Stephen Bali was invited on the stage to speak. The Mayor commended the organisers and talked of events of this nature as a great contributor towards the success of a local area. He acknowledged the efforts of sponsors without who shows like these are not possible. He was delighted to be part of the evening.
The event was proudly sponsored by; Official Travel Partner & Platinum Sponsor Mr Neni Tiwary from Value World Travel who had the honour of presenting Miss and Mr title winners and announced Return Air Tickets for all 3 winners to compete at the World Finals in Jamaica, Diamond Sponsor Mr Ritchie Perera from Castle Development had the honour of presenting Mrs title winner, Gold Sponsors Ms Elaine Roach CEO Spark Group of Companies had the honour of presenting Miss runner up title and Ms Sheetal Punjwani & Pooja Galhotra from Indian Beauty Secrets had the honour of styling (hair & makeup) Ms. Soha herself and presenting Mrs runner up title. Mr runner up was presented by reigning Mr. India Rohit Kalia.
An expert team of GROOMERS were commended; Ms Pooja Bharti from Saree collection for supplying traditional wear, Ms Sumati Lekhi from Swastik Dance Studio for choreography, Riana Das, Soulful Supriya, Seva Yoga, Desiree-Holistic Coach as well as STYLISTS (make up and hair styles) of contestants was taken care by professional team of hairstylists from Makeby By Ola, Cameron School of Make up and Glam Looks by Muzi. Special gratitude was also mentioned towards the official photographers Michael Theodorodis from Cyclone Imaging and AJ Singh from Event OZ and Kelvin Zeini from Olackha for covering the magical night.
Upon commencement after the break, the 12 finalists were announced. i.e. four contestants from each of the 3 (Miss, Mr and Mrs) categories, leading to the final Q & A round 5. Each contestant drew a judge name and were asked to respond to a question. Scores were compiled and winners were announced.
