Meet young, chirpy, Doris David, a 22 year old girl who has made a mark in the history of achievers by winning a first place in the highest level of Evaluation contest at the District 70th Toastmasters Annual Conference. She has been heavily involved in ‘Toastmasters’ and is also a part of a club in Toongabbie called ‘Holroyd Toastmasters Club’.
She’s currently the best evaluator/public speaker in NSW/ACT. She had the privilege to speak in front of the ‘World Champion of Public speaking’ (1992), Mr. Dana LaMon who was very impressed by Doris’s fluency and coherence.
Doris’s family migrated to Australia in 2004 from India and she’s one of the seven women to ever receive this prestigious award since 1972. She wants more young people to become involved in the public speaking domain as she believes that the benefits of doing this will be intrinsically valuable to them in all walks of life.
She has been recognised by ‘Blacktown City Council’ for her accomplishment which was published in the ‘Blacktown Sun’. The confident, upbeat and ever cheerful Doris wants to utilize her talents and gifts to inspire others, especially the youth of this era.
“I want to use my talents and gifts to inspire others, especially the younger generation”, she says with a vibrant smile.
