Music Launch of the upcoming film ‘Nanak Shah Fakir’ held on 7th April at the Le meridian hotel, New

Delhi. Representatives of the entire reputed media organisation were present at the venue for the

music launch. The star cast and the reputed names associated with the movie were present at the

launch. While addressing the media Harinder sikka said, “I am not making a film, I am delivering the

message of Guru Nanak to the world”.

Nanak Shah fakir’s producer, Harinder S Sikka, is associated with some big names of Hollywood and

Bollywood. Sound designer and co-producer Resul pookutty, Score mentor A.R Rahman and the

original score by Tuomas kantelinen.

The movie is to be release on April 17th, 2015. The movie has fallen into altercation not because of

the big names associated or the concept and the message of the film but because of the fact that

some social groups want it to be banned. Leaving everything behind, this movie is complete and set

to release this month.

Mr. Sikka told us about the challenges he faced and how the completion of the movie is a miracle for

him. Excerpts from the chat:

Your film has created ripples all across the globe, it was very well received and appreciated at the

‘Cannes film festival’ but in India some social groups are demanding a ban on the movie ,what

would you like to say about this??

If something different takes place once in 500 hundred years there will be some people speaking in

support and some against it, it’s not necessary that every person will like the change. To bring

change is not easy ,whatever we have tried were attempted in the past .There were films which

were protested first but later they were well accepted and liked by the audience like “Chaar

sahabzaade” so all I want to say is let the time decide.

So what message would you like to give to these groups??

I would like to say that please listen and understand the soul of this movie that is trying to spread

the message of Guru Nanak sahib to the world and we are not doing this for profit and I hope people

will understand.

What inspired you to make a movie on Guru Nanak??

The inspiration is based on my dream I saw in 2004 nearly 10 years ago and I wrote an article about

it. While writing the piece I prayed to god that I can show this to the world and luckily the gave me

the medium to do it and the came in the form of this film.

You mentioned in the conference that you faced of challenges during the making of the film,

would you like to throw some light on this statement?

I am not into the business of film making and when a new person enters the arena, the whole world

tries to rob him/her. That is what exactly happened with me, anyone else might have stepped back

but I feel I was really blessed. Whenever we face a problem, some miracle would happen and

problems ultimately got neglected. The whole film was made in 35 crores and we never begged for

help, be it anyone.

What is special in this film that makes it different from other films?

Nanak shah fakir is not a film, it is the life and the teachings of Guru Nanak . The entire film is about

the message that Nanak sahib teaching about ‘Ik onkar’, the almighty the lord is one. The film is

about humanity and in the favour of humanity.

One point when you lost all your hope during the making of the film?

By the extreme blessings of god, nothing like this happened with me.

An incident that happened during the making, that inspires you to promote and make more films

like Nanak shah fakir?

Is it not a miracle that big names from bollywood and Hollywood like A.R Rahman , Resul Pookutty,

Tuomas kantelinen ,Uttam singh , Nirmal singh ,Pandit Jasraj ji, kailash kher, Harshdeep kaur, sonu

Nigam, Roop kumar rathore joined the venture and worked with us without charging a single penny.

A message that you would like to give to the audience about the movie?

Please watch the movie and try to understand the message being conveyed in through this movie for

all the humanity and to the entire Sikhism, Sikhism is not just about the people who wear ‘pagri’, all

those who understands the teachings of Guru Nanak and follows them is a sikh and if the people

understands this message the motive of the movie would be complete.
