Music of upcoming movie Nanak Shah Fakir was launched by music sensation, Oscar winner, A. R. Rahman. For the first time ever, a movie on first guru of Sikhs has been made. Score mentor A. R. Rahman along with Resul Pookutty, co-producer and sound designer, Tuomas kantelinen and music director Uttam Singh, Nirmal singh, Pandit Jasraj ji , Kailash kher and all the other singers associated with the movie has not taken a single penny for this film. The release date of movie is set for April 17, 2015.
The musical journey of the trio for this film was Amazing. Finishing of the songs is done at the famous Abbey Road Studios in London. “The lost sense of poetry and literature can be seen in the sound tracks of this film, especially in Shabad”, said Pookutty.
Daya Kapah is the personal favorite track of Pookutty.
Rahman said that this project was amazing and like a dream work. He also said that it is his teacher’s blessings that his music is loved all around the world. The score mentor told us that he has given his 100% in this film.
The film has been caught in controversies before its release and religious groups are demanding a ban on the movie. But music of Oscar dual with Uttam Singh is praised by the public. The trio said that people’s love for their music is the only reward they need.
“This movie is not a spiritual movie. It’s about relationship, people and understanding Indian history. There is a sense of spirituality in the whole process. It is up to you to sense it. We have not made a spiritual film”, said Pookutty, co-produces of the film.
“This film is on life of Guru Nanak Dev, he was a spiritual person. It is up to audience to decide whether it is a spiritual film or not” he added.
