“SAY NO TO RACISM” educates Harmony Day

The City of Sydney is rich in it’s cultural diversity, about 43 percent of the population were born overseas and over 28 percent of the residents speak a second language at home.

In order to celebrate the unison of the multiculturism, Sydney City witnessed Harmony Day celebrations from 18-25 March, 2015
Varun Tiwari and his dance troupe of 8 other people which involved train crew driver Arun Khatri and train Guard Renu Purwaha, Station staff Manpreet Khera, Amit Trivedi, Yogesh Patel, Komal Khatri, Rammi Khatri enthusiastically participated.

The team thanked Jenny Hollran who participated in the Indian cultural dance instead of language barrier due to Varun’s hardwork.
The event was held in different stations of Sydney Trains Network.
Daily peak time commuters were welcomed by pleasant surprise of Bollywood and Bhangra dance.

The colorful, enthusiastic and energetic dance performances were impossible to miss. Even the staff around could not hold their limbs and danced along Varun’s troupe.

This Harmony Day was special, warm and welcoming to routine bounded commuters.

Indians had a special contribution in the Harmony Day celebrations. This day is being celebrated from last 15 years and people from different backgrounds, cultures and heritage present their dances on the day.

As Australia is a multicultural country and Harmony Day is common event where everyone gets an opportunity share their culture and heritage through singing and dancing. The event was filled with great entertainment and was a memorable one.
