The route The Giants will take through the streets of Perth has been released to the public.
Over the three days of February 13-15, an 11-metre tall Deep Sea Diver Giant and a six-metre tall Little Girl Giant will walk from Wellington Square, Beaufort Street, the Perth Station, Weld Square and Langley Park on a search to find one another.
Premier Colin Barnett said French company Royal de Luxe would recount a story that would appropriately commemorate the Anzac centenary while fascinating adults and children alike.
“I welcome director Jean-Luc Courcoult and the entire 90-strong Royal de Luxe team to Perth for what will be one of the most extraordinary events this State has ever seen,” Mr Barnett said.
“The Diver Giant and the Little Girl Giant will tell an important Anzac story, 100 years since the Australian Imperial Force sailed from Albany to Gallipoli to join World War I.
“Spectators will be taken on a journey as the streets of Perth are transformed and we learn more about the sacrifices our early men and women made for us.
“This event is going to be amazing for the city of Perth. It will be especially wonderful for families and children and I’d really encourage as many people as possible to come along and follow The Giants. You will never see anything like this in Perth again – this really is going to be a phenomenal few days.
“I am proud that we have been able to secure this world-class event exclusively for Western Australia.”
Culture and the Arts Minister John Day said the event would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for West Australians and visitors to the city.
“This performance promises to be one of the stand-out events for 2015 and years to come,”
Mr Day said. “It is a work of immense scale, logistical planning and global impact and we expect the three-day performance to attract hundreds of thousands of people to the CBD.”
