Man gets life term for double murder

57New Delhi, Dec 16 (IANS) A court here awarded life sentence to a man for committing a double murder in 2013.

Judge Kamini Lau said that no remission will be granted to the convict Govind, 25, till he undergoes an actual sentence of 25 years.

Govind was slapped with a fine of Rs.2 lakh to be given to the families of those killed by Govind.

Govind had stabbed Babloo and Ramesh alias Lamboo to death in April 6, 2013 in Sultan Puri in west Delhi.

Both victims were drug addicts and had a quarrel with Govind that day. Govind was himself in an inebriated condition when he killed them in the evening of that day.

Additional Sessions Judge Kamini lau said: “An addiction to drugs is a dangerous habit which demonizes a person who devours himself, by destroying his own life and that of others around him and causes darkness and devastating consequences to himself, his own family, the society and to the nation to which he belongs.”
